This is a virtual conference.

Purpose

This conference is designed to bring together individuals from Nebraska and surrounding states who are interested in promoting optimal immunization levels that will eliminate vaccine-preventable diseases throughout the lifespan of all persons.

Objectives

  • Discuss recommended immunization schedules for adults, vaccination resources and screening for contraindications and precautions to vaccination
  • Review two centuries of continuous vaccine development research, improvements and achievements
  • Explore how modern vaccine concepts stem from early empirical approaches
  • Discuss how, during the last 30 years, several new technologies made possible vaccines that were previously impossible
  • Explore life experiences of survivors and educate about the impact of vaccine-preventable diseases
  • Discuss disease surveillance in Nebraska and relay information on noteworthy cases and outbreaks
  • Discuss the results of the 2019 Immunize Nebraska attendee survey
  • Discuss COVID-19 and how it is impacting the rates of vaccinations
  • Show the benefits and advantages of using an educational game to highlight a variety of vaccine-related questions and answers to increase vaccination knowledge and improve communication technologies on immunization promotion

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Creighton University Health Sciences Continuing Education (HSCE) and Immunization Task Force Metro Omaha. Creighton University HSCE is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the health care team.

Fellows, residents and full-time students: $50

Group Discount:  A 10% discount is offered for groups of three or more.  Please call the Office of Continuing Education at 402.280.1830 if you are interested in registering your group at the discounted rate.

Refund Policy

Continuing education and professional development courses may be cancelled by the attendee in writing up to 7 days before the course begins for a full refund, less a $25 processing fee. No refund will be given 7 days prior to the course. Some courses are not eligible for a refund; these exceptions are noted in specific course descriptions. If a course is cancelled by the University for non-weather related issues, the student will be notified and a full refund will be processed. In the event of a weather related closure, the course will be rescheduled.
